Thank you Geelong Connected Communities

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Geelong Connected Communities for their generous grant support.

Their contribution has supported our Refresh and Replenish Project — an important initiative to restore and revitalise ageing and storm-damaged garden areas along the Walk. By adding new plantings, we’re helping to ensure that the Walk remains a beautiful, resilient space for the community to enjoy year-round.

Plant selection was made with great care, with Beverley enjoying a day out at Kuranga Native Nursery in Mount Evelyn — a specialist in Australian native plants. From there, a vibrant mix of approximately 40 new plants was chosen, including a variety of textures, colours and seasonal highlights.

On Saturday, April 27, our committee members gathered for a working bee to get the new plants into the ground. It was a cool and calm autumn morning — perfect conditions for planting — and even better, we were treated to scattered rain over the two days that followed, giving the new plants a wonderful start.

Thank you again to Geelong Connected Communities for helping us grow and thrive. We look forward to watching these new additions settle in and bring fresh life to the Walk for many seasons to come.
