Invite Us as a Guest Speaker
Looking for a guest speaker for your next meeting or community gathering? Discover the story behind one of Lara’s much-loved places, Kevin Hoffman Walk.
Our Secretary, Linda Wilson, brings the Walk’s story to your group through a friendly presentation supported by photographs and PowerPoint slides. From Kevin Hoffman’s dedication over more than four decades to the community effort that continues today, it is a story of Australian native gardens, local history and the difference one person can make.
A local story to share
Along the banks of Hovells Creek in Lara, Kevin created a native garden that continues to welcome visitors, provide habitat for wildlife and connect people with nature.
Linda shares how the Walk began, the people and milestones that have shaped it, and how the Friends of Kevin Hoffman Walk help care for this special community place and preserve Kevin’s legacy.
Whether your audience already knows the Walk or is discovering it for the first time, there is plenty to learn about the story behind the gardens.
A presentation to suit your group
We welcome enquiries from community groups, clubs, local businesses and other organisations across Geelong and nearby areas.
Presentations can range from a brief five-minute introduction to a fuller talk of around 50 minutes. We can discuss the length and focus to suit your gathering, with time for questions if you wish.
When you enquire, please let us know your preferred date, venue, available time and a little about your audience. We can also discuss the equipment needed to display the presentation.
Supporting the Walk
There is currently no presentation fee for groups within Geelong and nearby areas. If your group would like to make a donation towards caring for the Walk, your support would be warmly appreciated.
Where suitable, we would also welcome the opportunity to bring along our fundraising calendars and blank cards for interested attendees to purchase. Both are optional ways to support our ongoing work.
For venues further afield, please contact us to discuss availability and any travel or presentation fee.
