Refreshing the Kevin Hoffman Walk: A Special Thanks to APS Victoria

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Australian Plants Society Victoria for their generous grant in May 2025, in support of our Refresh and Replenish Project.

This funding has enabled us to continue our Refresh and Replenish Project, an important program focused on restoring and revitalising ageing and storm-damaged areas along the Kevin Hoffman Walk. By introducing new plantings, we’re helping to ensure the Walk remains a vibrant and resilient space for the community to enjoy, whilst continuing the vision Kevin Hoffman had for a garden filled with Australian native plants.

The new plants were thoughtfully sourced from Kuranga Native Nursery, with a mix of shrubs, groundcovers and feature plants selected to bring texture, colour and seasonal interest to different areas of the Walk.

Our committee members came together across two separate planting sessions last year to get the new plants into the ground. The weather was kind to us on both mornings and we are pleased to report that the plants are all growing well.

Australian Plants Society Victoria has been promoting the appreciation and growing of Australian native plants for more than 50 years. With district groups across the state, the organisation encourages gardeners, communities and the nursery industry to celebrate Australian plants in both home gardens and public landscapes, while also supporting the conservation and study of our unique flora.

Support like this not only helps us care for the Walk in a practical way, it also aligns beautifully with the shared goal of promoting Australian native plants and their value in community landscapes.

We are very grateful to Australian Plants Society Victoria for their support and look forward to watching these new plantings grow and flourish in the seasons ahead.
