A Heart Felt Thank You to Community Bank Lara District

The Friends of Kevin Hoffman Walk are extremely grateful to the Community Bank Lara District for their generous sponsorship, which commenced in 2018. Their ongoing support plays a vital role in helping us maintain and preserve the Walk — from keeping our pathways and garden beds in good condition, supporting irrigation system repairs, and assisting with equipment and materials, to helping us fund our annual calendar, community brochures, and essential administrative costs. This vital support not only keeps our not-for-profit running smoothly but also ensures Kevin’s legacy continues to inspire future generations.

Most recently, we’ve been fortunate to receive two major grants that have transformed how we connect with the community online.

The first project, The Walk’s Digital Makeover, gave our ageing website the refresh it truly needed. With a cleaner, simplified design and clearer navigation, the site is now much more welcoming and informative. We’ve updated every piece of written content, added new pages like What’s On, Ways to Get Involved, News, and introduced an Online Shop—a first for us! Visitors can now explore the Walk, stay up to date with events, join as a member, make a donation, or support our fundraising efforts all in one place.

Behind the scenes, the biggest change has been for our admin volunteers. What used to be a cumbersome, time-consuming process has become refreshingly straightforward. We now have full control of our website — with the ability to update every area of the site ourselves, without restrictions or the need for technical assistance. This means we can keep our information fresh, share news promptly, and continue evolving our digital presence as our community grows.

Building on that momentum, the second project, Future-Proofing the Walk’s Website, is ensuring that these improvements are sustainable. With stronger hosting, automatic backups, integrated online memberships, and professional WordPress support through a 12-month program, we’re now set up for long-term success.
