2027 Kevin Hoffman Walk Calendar – The Magic of the Walk

Theme: Magic of the Walk

Each year, our calendar gives us the opportunity to see the Kevin Hoffman Walk through the eyes of the photographers who visit it. For 2027, the theme Magic of the Walk has produced another beautiful collection of images capturing the colour, detail and special moments found along the Walk.

The 12 images featured in the calendar were selected from entries in our 2026 Photo Competition, which once again attracted a wonderful mix of returning photographers and first-time entrants.

Our 2027 Cover Winner

Congratulations to Julie-Ann Ricci, whose image was selected for the cover of our 2027 calendar.

This is Julie-Ann’s second time as our cover winner, following her success with the 2025 calendar. Her continued involvement in our photo competition has resulted in a wonderful collection of images celebrating the Walk over the years.

From Our Cover Winner

Julie-Ann reflected on what draws her back to the Walk and to our annual photo competition:

“Through photography, I can share my perspective of the world, which is why I enjoy participating in the competition. The calendar offers amateur photographers like me the opportunity to share the magic of the Walk.”

She also spoke about the calendar as a way of honouring Kevin Hoffman’s legacy and recognising the work of the volunteers who continue to care for the Walk.

Our Featured Photographers

Congratulations to all of the photographers whose images appear in our 2027 calendar:

Julie-Ann Ricci — First place and cover winner
Julie Eckstein — Second place
Helen Steer — Equal third place
Jo Readings — Equal third place
Erin van der Veen
Graham Lee
Estelle Gardiner
Yvonne Verheem
Erin Hearns
Sam Das

It was particularly encouraging to see so many new names among our featured photographers this year. Julie Eckstein, our second placegetter, and equal third placegetters Helen Steer and Jo Readings were all first-time entrants, along with four other photographers featured in the calendar.

We love seeing familiar names return each year, but it is equally rewarding to welcome new photographers and see the Walk through a fresh set of eyes.

Each of our featured photographers received a complimentary copy of the 2027 calendar as a thank you for sharing their images with us.

With Thanks to our Prize Sponsors

Our congratulations again to Julie-Ann, Julie, Helen and Jo, and our thanks to the local businesses who helped us recognise their achievements.

Lara Sporting Club generously provided a $50 gift voucher for our first placegetter, The Produce Corner provided a $40 gift voucher for second place, and Anna’s Café Lara provided two $20 gift vouchers for our equal third placegetters.

We also thank Cobram Estate for providing gifts of olive oil for two of our placegetters who attended the Winners Event.

Their support added a little something extra to the occasion and helped us celebrate the photographers who shared their work with us this year.

You can also read more about the presentation of the awards in our 2026 Photo Competition Winners Event blog.

A Calendar That Supports the Walk

Our annual calendar is much more than a collection of beautiful photographs. It is also our major annual fundraiser, with proceeds helping us continue to care for and preserve the Kevin Hoffman Walk.

Funds raised contribute towards the employment of our part-time gardener and projects such as our ongoing Refresh & Replenish planting program, helping us maintain the Walk for our community and future generations to enjoy.

At just $15, purchasing a calendar is a simple way to support the Walk while enjoying a little piece of it throughout the year.

With Thanks to Our Printer

A special thank you once again to Zil from MM Spot, who has printed our calendars since our very first edition in 2019.

We greatly value Zil’s ongoing support, advice and attention to detail, along with his willingness to ensure our calendars are printed and ready when we need them. We are fortunate to have such a supportive local printer as part of our calendar story.
