Theme: Flora & Fauna of the Walk
Our 2024 calendar celebrated the plant life and wildlife that call the Kevin Hoffman Walk home. The images featured were selected from our 2023 photo competition, which invited amateur photographers to capture the diversity of flora and fauna found along the Walk — from striking blooms to curious birds and insects.
We were thrilled with the response, both in the number of entries and the quality of the photographs submitted. It was wonderful to welcome a mix of returning entrants and first-timers, showing the continued growth and appeal of the competition within our community.

The title of Cover Photo for 2024 was awarded to Erin Hearns — an impressive achievement that marked her third time receiving this honour. We sincerely thank Erin for her ongoing support of the Walk and our annual competition.
Featured Photographers
Congratulations to the following photographers whose work was featured in the 2024 calendar:
- Erin Hearns – First Place
- Julie-Ann Ricci – Second Place
- Merryn Pike – Third Place
- Ann Ryan
- Gail Sheridan
- Hannah McSeveny (Under 18 entrant)
- Jessica Gurry
A special shout-out to Hannah McSeveny, one of our younger entrants. It’s wonderful to see younger people developing an interest in photography and engaging with the natural world — something we warmly encourage in future competitions.
We’d also like to acknowledge Julie-Ann Ricci, a first-time entrant who had not one, but three of her images featured across the 2024 calendar — an outstanding result!
Each featured photographer received a complimentary copy of the calendar as a thank you.
Prize Acknowledgements
This year, the committee chose to award prizes to our first three placegetters: Erin, Julie and Merryn.
We are grateful to Roraima Nursery, Lara Sporting Club, and Anna’s Café for their generous support in providing gift vouchers to acknowledge these achievements.
Supporting the Walk
Calendar sales are our major annual fundraiser, with all proceeds going toward the care and upkeep of the Walk — including employing our part-time gardener. The 2024 calendar sold out before the end of the year, and we thank everyone who supported us through a purchase.
